As a sculptor working in clay, I was introduced early in this career to the mystery and excitement of raku firing. And there's been no going back for me!! Nothing rivals the thrill and individuality raku firing imparts. Each creation emerges from the ashes transformed by the complex unique finish for which this ancient process is best known.

I come from the northeast milltown of Lowell, Massachusetts, one of six sisters in a brood of nine. Having spent my young adult years with my mother and siblings in the oceanside town of Hull, I changed venue completely in 1982, moving to San Francisco as a mother of a young daughter and son. I made a very unscheduled arrival in the sculptors world - but am delighted to be here! It's an ever evolving classroom of exploration, always marked by the rush of energy which creating "creates".
